DIVERSITY TEAMS

The “Dallas is Diversity” program works to host special teams that demonstrate the diversity of soccer, the world’s game.  Funding for the venture is secured from generous sponsors throughout the world. Each “Diversity Team” represents the variety of cultures, ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic differences in the country they come from.  Past participants have been sent by Nobel Peace Laureates Desmond Tutu from South Africa, Oscar Arias from Costa Rica and Mairead Corrigan Maguire from Northern Ireland.  Simon Peres and the organization the "Peres Center for Peace" which is based in Tel-Aviv, have on two occasions sent an under 12 team composed of 9 Israeli boys and 9 Palestinian boys playing together on the same team. Funding was secured from various organizations in the Dallas and Texas area. “Diversity Teams” are not able to participate in the tournament every year mainly due to the lack of funding. Our goal is to find long term sponsorships that will allow our organization to bring a “Diversity Team” every year.
