Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXI (March 28-April 4, 2010) offers the most competitive international youth soccer in North America plus genuine Texas hospitality. The Dallas Cup is by invitation only and teams are selected for invitation based on their competitive performance as shown on the on-line application which is normally available in late summer for the following years tournament.  All performance information is verified through the Dallas Cup’s world wide network.  In past years, teams and referees have traveled to Dallas from ninety-eight countries and six continents. Format
In the opening round robin, teams are bracketed into groups of four and are guaranteed a minimum of three games. Group winners and/or wildcards advance to the elimination stage of the tournament.   "Friendly Games" will be organized in the latter part of the week for those teams that do not advance to the elimination stage giving teams the opportunity to play five matches (weather permitting) while in Dallas.  All games are played on grass fields in the Dallas area, all within easy driving distance of the Dallas Cup designated hotels. The Opening Ceremonies, Super Group feature games, and all finals will be held at a stadium venue. Trophies and medals are awarded to all finalists and souvenirs to all competitors. The Dallas Cup is sanctioned by North Texas Soccer, the United States Soccer Federation and FIFA. The Texas Longhorns Soccer Club is the host club for the Dallas Cup.

The Dallas Cup "Referee Family" is considered by many to be the world’s best for a youth tournament. World Class referees from around the globe, many of whom are FIFA referees with past World Cup appointments, take part in the tournament each year.

The week is full of additional activities including a Welcome Reception for team officials, referees, and dignitaries; Olympic Style Opening Ceremonies; Casino Night benefitting Dallas Cup’s Dallas Is Diversity program (for adults only); and optional visits to the Dallas West End, John F. Kennedy Memorial and Sixth Floor Museum, Southfork Ranch and Six Flags over Texas Amusement Park.

Accommodations & Local Transportation 
Additional information will be available on the Dallas Cup website when the selection/invitation process begins.
All invited teams will be required to make hotel reservations and pay a 4 night deposit for each room reserved at one of the designated Dallas Cup hotels. Hotels and rates will be determined and available prior to the start of the selection process.

Team Registration Process
 
Team registration will begin Friday evening before the tournament begins and will close Saturday evening at 5:00pm.   There will not be registration on Sunday morning as in past years.  Team arrival in Dallas should be planned for  Saturday morning or early afternoon at the latest.  If arriving on Saturday, make sure the arrival time is early enough to arrive at the Headquarters Hotel no later than the times indicated below. 
 
(1) Dallas teams will still be required to complete registration on the Friday evening prior to the beginning of the tournament.
(2) International teams will be required to complete the registration process by no later than 1:00pm on Saturday.
(3) USA teams will be required to complete the registration process by no later than 5:00pm on Saturday.
(4) Registration times at the Headquarters Hotel will be as follows:
 
Friday, 7pm-10pm  Dallas teams mandatory, International teams optional.
 
Saturday, 8am-1pm  International teams mandatory.
 
Saturday, 1pm-5pm  USA teams mandatory.
 
(5) The mandatory coaches meeting will still take place at 7:30am on Sunday morning.
(6) Tournament play begins at 12:00pm on Sunday.
(7) Invited teams should make their travel plans accordingly.
 
Note: International teams must have their players with passports available at registration.
 

 HomeStay Program
For international teams (except Canada and Mexico), the HomeStay Program is available with families of local soccer teams that also participate in the tournament. There is no cost for the HomeStay Program. The HomeStay Program is for players only (18 maximum in all age groups except Super Group which is 22 maximum) and includes sleeping arrangements and two meals per day for a maximum of 10 days. International teams that are approved for the HomeStay program should plan to arrive in Dallas on the Friday before the tournament begins and depart from Dallas on the Monday after the completion of the tournament. If travel plans call for arrival or departure dates other than those mentioned, the international team is responsible for all additional expenses related to the players sleeping arrangements and meals. All other expenses related to the trip and time in Dallas for the entire delegation are also the responsibility of the team.

Application Entry Fee and Deadline 
 
The tournament entry fee of $1000 USD must be paid within ten (10) days of submitting the team application on line through the Dallas Cup website. The entry fee will be refunded if the team is not selected for an invitation. If a team withdraws after receiving an invitation, the entry fee is forfeited.  The on line application is available in late summer of each year.
 
All entry fees will be deposited upon receipt. Deposit of the entry fee does not indicate acceptance of the team.
 
All teams (USA from outside the North Texas area and International) that wish to be considered for an invitation are encouraged to submit their on-line application as soon as possible after it becomes available on the Dallas Cup web site in late summer.
 
Applications will not be accepted from USA teams after November 14, 2009.
 
Application will not be accepted from International teams after December 12, 2009, however the Dallas Cup reserves the right to close any of the age groups at any time prior to December 15, 2009 should the Selection Committee deem it appropriate.
