In a recent article by Richie Whitt of the Dallas Observer, Gordon Jago, Executive Director of Dallas Cup, Inc. was ranked 44 out of 50 on "The Fab Fifty". He made the list for his constant dedication to the world of youth soccer (word must have just spread to Dallas, since last October, Gordon was honored with an M.B.E. - Member of the British Empire, for his services to the promotion of international soccer) . The actual quote from the article says, "he does more for local youth soccer than ten (10) David Beckhams". Jago beat out Dr. Kenneth Cooper (of the Cooper Aerobics Center), Don Hooton (a strong supporter of the steriod fight in Major League Baseball), Larry Lundy (President of the Dallas All-Sports Assoc.), Nancy Liberman (known as Dallas sports' first lady, now seen on EPSN), Tom Landry (a legend in NFL), John Painter (the man behind the Mesquite Rodeo) who all round out the top 50. According to Mr. Whitt's article, Jerry Jones sits in the number one spot, but we all know at Dallas Cup, Gordon Jago has that position locked in!!! Congratulations, Gordon!
