Throughout the year the “Dallas Is Diversity” program sponsors youth soccer skills clinics promoting the value of sportsmanship through amateur competition in the game of soccer. The clinics are free and open to children who normally would not be exposed to soccer but are interested in experiencing the game at all levels of play. As part of the expansion of the “Dallas Is Diversity” program, art clinics have been incorporated with the summer soccer clinics. The children participating in the selected clinics do a “make and take” art project and have soccer skills training during an afternoon session. This gives the children the added benefit of being exposed to art as well as sport, diversifying their experience.
