2011 Dr Pepper Dallas Cup Gordon Jago Super Group Co-Champions

If we play them together in the first game in Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIII, 1 – 8 April 2012 we can claim a Guinness Book of Records for the longest soccer game ever starting on April 24, 2011 and finishing on April 1, 2012 “approximately 8208 hours” joked Executive Director, Gordon Jago in announcing both clubs joining Everton FC for next year’s tournament”.

The 2011 Super Group final between the two clubs had to be abandoned due to lightning in the 65th minute with score tied at 1-1. It was the first time in the Dallas Cup’s 32 year history that a game had to be abandoned stated Tournament Manager, Randy Jones. With the scored tied both teams were awarded Super Group Co-Champions for 2011.

We are delighted that we can welcome back both teams for 2012 and it certainly will be interesting if they do meet next year’s competition continued Gordon Jago.

We are pleased to report that we have received the most applications ever for the Super Group and we will be announcing more teams accepted next week stated Randy Jones.
