This time last year Paxton Pomykal along with his FC Dallas U-15 teammates were in preparation for the 2015 Dr Pepper Dallas Cup. After a stellar performance in the U16 division, Paxton was selected by adidas to participate in the Young Champion 5v5 tournament during UEFA Champions League Final in Germany. Since then, Paxton has been on a whirlwind year of travel for soccer. His talent has drew the attention not only from FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja but also the U.S. Youth National Team program. Paxton will be competing with FC Dallas Under-17 team in this year's Generation adidas Cup in Frisco. The Championship game will be held at Toyota Stadium Frisco March 26th.
If you're at the reserve game #26 is Paxton, the kid Oscar first named when asked "who from the academy do you know will play for Sr's"?

What was your favorite place you visited so far?
I enjoyed the adidas Young Champions trip the most so far. Playing in the Legends game at this event with all the former superstars of the world was amazing. Then going to the champion league final in person made it the perfect trip.
It's okay to name drop on this question. Can you name as many as you can all the famous soccer players you have met this past year? And, anyone in particular surprised you in what you expected?
I can't remember them all but I met, Zidane, rode the Legends All-star game bus next to Cafu, was coached by Peter Schmeichel and played or trained with Robert Pires, Cafu; Abidal, Trezeguet; freestyle footballer Sean Garnier, Chicharito; Carlos Vela, Rafa Marquez and Guardado. You can also include all the Pros at FCD as I have trained with them a lot this last year.
Your first youth national team call-up, how did you find out and did you have any idea it was coming?
I had no idea it was coming. My mom gets a lot of emails from colleges about ID camps. We were watching TV in the living room and my mom asks my dad to look at this camp invitation, it’s not like the other invites. My dad tells her because it’s not and forwarded me the email and said congratulations.
Can you expound on one of the many experiences from this past year that will make you a better player?
I think my first call-up with the U19s was an experience that really helped me. Learning from Brad Friedel as well as gaining that first international experience, it taught me different views on the game beyond the club point of view. There wasn't one specific item on the trip, the whole trip was beneficial and I feel I came home a better player.
