Invitations Will Be Extended In The Following Manner:
(1) As the host club, one (1) Texas Longhorns team in each Dallas Cup age group will receive an automatic invitation provided the team plays in Division One of the Classic League. If two Texas Longhorns teams are in the same age group, the team with the better record for the first round of the season in Division One will receive the automatic invitation.
(2) Any Dallas Metro Area team that won the previous years North America Memorial Day Cup (NAMDC) in the appropriate age groups, will receive an automatic invitation.
(3) Once the participating teams in item 1 and/or 2 are determined, the remaining teams with the best record for the first round of the season in Division One will receive an invitation to participate. (Note: “first round” is defined by the Classic League as being complete once a team plays the other nine (9) teams in their group for the first time.) This will complete each Dallas Cup age group as defined above. (Note: Qualification through Division One play supercedes NAMDC Championship qualification as it relates to seeding, HomeStay assignments, etc.) The total number of Dallas Metro Area teams accepted to the Dallas Cup in any age group (through NAMDC qualification plus through CCSAI Classic League qualification) shall not exceed the total number of four team brackets for that age group in the Dallas Cup tournament.
(4) Once each age group is completed, the next two (2) Division One teams in each Dallas Cup age group with the best record will be placed in an “alternate pool” with other USA teams. If deemed necessary by the Dallas Cup Selection Committee, “alternate pool” teams may ultimately receive an invitation to participate in the Dallas Cup. The team actually selected will be determined based on need and circumstances as defined by the Dallas Cup.
(5) In the event of ties, the Classic League tie-breaker system will be used to determine final league standings.
General Information
(1) Dallas Metro Area teams are defined as those teams on which a majority of the players reside within the DFW metropolitan area and which can provide the HomeStay Program for international teams on a reasonable basis as defined by the Dallas Cup. This definition precludes teams from areas such as Wichita Falls, Tyler, Midland/Odessa, etc. from being selected to participate in the Dallas Cup regardless of their finish in the fall season.
(2) All teams that accept the invitation to participate in the Dallas Cup are required to: (1) provide HomeStay arrangements for an international team. Participating Dallas teams should be prepared to have a minimum of twelve (12) homes/families available to provide the HomeStay Program. The majority of the international teams will arrive on the Friday before the tournament begins and depart on the Monday morning after the conclusion of the tournament. There may be occasions where the international team may have to arrive earlier and/or stay later in order to secure a significantly cheaper airfare. All individuals (18 and older including players) that are involved with the Dallas Cup HomeStay Program will be required to complete the necessary paperwork for a Criminal Background Check; (2) provide a minimum of 100 man hours of volunteer work prior to and/or during the tournament week in the event the international team does not arrive or if for any reason an international team is not assigned for HomeStay. Not fulfilling this criteria may result in the invitation to participate being revoked by the Dallas Cup. Full details of the HomeStay Program will be provided at the time of invitation.
(3) If for any reason the first round of the season in Division One of the CCSAI Classic League is not completed by the date originally scheduled, the Dallas Cup office reserves the right to make the final decision on which teams will be invited to participate in the Dallas Cup.
Guest Player and Replacement Player Policy
(new policy as of June 2006)
All teams shall be allowed to have up to four (4) Guest Players with a maximum roster of eighteen (18) except in the Super Group which may have a maximum roster of twenty two (22). USA teams will also be allowed to have Replacement Players that are lost due to any USSF/USYSA/USCS programs (National, Regional, ODP, etc.) that conflict in time with the Dallas Cup tournament dates. Written confirmation from the teams governing body of any conflict in time must be provided to the Dallas Cup office. All Guest Players/Replacement Players must meet the following criteria: 1) must be approved for participation by their respective governing body [USA teams] or by the provincial association of their national federation [International teams]; 2) must be a registered player with the appropriate governing body [USA teams]or provincial association of their national federation [International teams]; 3) may not be selected from any other team that is participating in the tournament, nor from any team designated as an "alternate pool" team. If a Guest/Replacement player is selected from any team which is subsequently invited to participate in the tournament, the player must return to his original team. If a Guest/Replacement player participates in a tournament match and the player's original team is subsequently invited to participate, said player must remain with the team for which he played the tournament match.
